Learn About Our Practice

Our dental hygienist Jeanie provides caring periodontal care at the Miami office.
A dental implant replaces a missing tooth and fuses to the jawbone.

Restore Missing Teeth with Dental Implants

A dental implant is essentially a titanium screw that is inserted into and fuses to your jawbone. A permanent post is then placed, and your restorative dentist cements a cap, or crown. Implants also support dentures and implant-supported bridges.

  • You don't have to cut down adjacent teeth to support a replacement.
  • Implants don't decay and don't need root canals.
  • Implants help preserve your jawbone and a youthful facial profile.
  • Enjoy foods such as steak and corn-on-the-cob with confidence again.

Common Questions About Dental Implants & Gum Care

Is dental implant placement painful?
Implant placement is a very comfortable procedure. Only the area being treated needs to be anesthetized — over 99% of patients do not need a nerve block for implant placement, and a simple placement generally takes less than an hour.
How long does an implant take to heal?
Modern materials typically require about 8 weeks for the implant to fuse with bone, compared with 4–6 months for older implants. Softer bone may take longer, and bone regeneration or sinus augmentation adds time.
Do you treat children?
Yes. We see and welcome children of all ages, from managing gum problems and congenital missing teeth to helping orthodontic patients with erupting teeth and overgrown gum tissue.
How long do dental implants last?
Implants are designed to last for many years — and often for life — with proper care. Many of our patients' implants have remained stable for 10, 13, and even 15 years with no changes.
